DVACT-PAI wants everyone to be able to use our website and access the information we provide.

We are committed to making our website and all of our literature as accessible and easy to use as possible, regardless of a person's age, disability, health condition or individual needs.

Making Our Website Easier to Use

We aim to:

  • Use clear and simple language.

  • Use easy-to-read fonts and text sizes.

  • Make sure there is a good contrast between text and backgrounds.

  • Use clear headings to help people find information.

  • Make website links and buttons easy to identify.

  • Make our website as easy to navigate as possible.

  • Provide descriptions for meaningful images where appropriate.

  • Make documents and downloadable information accessible wherever possible.

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as our accessibility target.

Known Accessibility Issues

We are working to make our website as accessible as possible. However, some parts of the website or older documents may not yet meet all accessibility requirements.

If you experience any difficulty using our website, please contact us. We will do our best to help and consider whether the information can be provided in another format.

Need Information in a Different Format?

If you need information in a different format, please contact us.

We will consider requests for:

  • Large print.

  • Easier-to-read information.

  • Documents in an alternative format.

  • Information explained over the telephone.

  • Additional support to access information or services.

We will consider individual requests and do our best to meet your needs.

Accessibility and Our Register

We recognise that accessibility is particularly important when providing information about our Register.

The register exists to support public protection and help members of the public make informed decisions about the professionals they choose.

We will aim to make information about the register accessible and understandable, including:

  • What the register is and our steps towards PSA accreditation.

  • How to check whether a professional is registered.

  • Registration requirements and standards.

  • The responsibilities of registered professionals.

  • How to raise a concern or make a complaint.

  • How our registration and decision-making processes work.

  • How members of the public can contact us.

We will consider accessibility when reviewing registration information, application processes, guidance and communications with registrants and the public.

We will also consider whether people need additional support to understand information or take part in our processes.

Accessibility will not remove the need to meet registration standards or public protection requirements. However, we will aim to make sure that people are not placed at an unnecessary disadvantage when accessing our services or engaging with the register.
